Our Work

About Omar

Visual artist based in Sydney, working across painting, sculpture, and light installation.

His early mentors included artist and goldsmith Umberto Fracassi, who was conferred the title of Baron by Salvador Dalí, and later Luigi Stoisa, an established sculptor and painter. These early experiences shaped his foundation in traditional techniques, materials, and artistic discipline.

In 2012, Omar relocated to Australia, where his practice developed in two main directions:

  • Backlit painting on glass, where surface and structure interact through controlled lighting

  • Large-scale sculpture, using stainless steel and industrial materials in tension with natural forms and gravity

Since 2024, he has been mentored by Australian sculptor Hugh McLachlan, known for his highly polished stainless steel works focusing on light and reflection. He is also currently mentored by, and collaborating with, Australian sculptor Stephen Glassborow, a specialist in bronze figurative sculpture and modelling, whose work is influenced by classical and Art Deco styles.

Omar work explores structure, perception, and the visible effects of time and process.

Focus

Grounded in material research and clarity of form, Omar’s practice now includes advanced welding and modelling techniques in stainless steel and bronze under expert guidance. His current focus lies in integrating sculpture into public and architectural contexts, while continuing to develop private commissions and explore new directions in bronze sculpture.
